Specificity
|
Antiprelamin A polyclonal antibody detects fulllenght prelamin A which has not yet undergone proteolytic steps both in its nonfarnesylated and in its farnesylated form. The farnesylated form of fulllenght prelamin A is labelled by the antibody with lower efficiency. The antibody does not cross react with mature lamin A.

Characteristics
|
Several laminopathies are characterized by an anomalous accumulation of prelamin A, the lamin A precursor. This polyclonal antibody is able to detect full-length prelamin A, while it does not recognize either mature lamin A or cleaved prelamin A intermediates.

Purified by protein A affinity chromatography and conjugated by NHS-biotin.
